Program on “Glass Whimsies” Slated for March 24 A program on Glasshouse Whimsies will be presented on Saturday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Geneva History Museum, 543 S. Main St. The program, sponsored by the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes, is free and open to the public. The museum is handicapped accessible. The speaker will be Chris Davis. His talk will be illustrated by a slide show and real examples of whimsical glass objects created on their own time by glassblowers, typically from bottle and window glass factories. These include glass canes, witch balls, chains, darners, and more as well as whimsies made from bottles, jars, etc. Davis is Historian for the Town of Arcadia and Village of Newark. He is an antiques dealer, a collector primarily of antique bottles and early glass and active in the Wayne County Antique Dealers Association and Genesee Valley Bottle Collectors Association.
