Cuomo calls on NYers to sign petition regarding violence in Charlottesville

Governor Cuomo on Sunday released the following statement calling on President Trump to denounce white supremacists and is asking all concerned New Yorkers and others to sign a petition.

"After the deadly and ugly events in Charlottesville I am calling on President Trump to clearly and unequivocally condemn and denounce the violent protest organized by the white supremacists and neo-Nazis, including Richard Spencer and Jason Kessler, with support from David Duke. President Trump must immediately call this for what it is - no cover, no euphemisms.

"This was a terror attack by white supremacists.

"Join me in signing a petition demanding that President Trump acknowledges this hate for what it is: Domestic terrorism willfully perpetrated by white supremacists.

"While President Trump is back in New York today - let's remind him: hate has no sides and violence has no place."
