Absentee ballots for Ontario County Board of Supervisors District 3 representing Wards 5 and 6 in the City of Geneva have been counted and incumbent Gregory Bendzlowicz holds a one vote lead. 11 absentee ballots were counted this afternoon. All 11 were accepted and favored Bendzlowicz 6 to 5. After last Tuesday’s election, he was tied with challenger Tamarie Cataldo 184 to 184.

Election night ended with only two of three races for Ontario County Board of Supervisors representing the City of Geneva decided. Incumbents Dom Vedora and Lou Guard retained their seats in Districts 1 and 2. But the District 3 incumbent, Gregory Bendzlowicz, is tied at 184 votes each with Tamarie Cataldo. Cataldo is a newcomer to running for public office and she says she’s on pins and needles.

One of the incumbent candidates for Ontario County Board of Supervisors is also a first-time candidate. Lou Guard was appointed to the seat representing Wards 3 & 4 when Charlie Evangelista accepted a position on the Ontario County Board of Elections. Guard was the unanimous choice by the City of Geneva Council, but is now making his case to the voters to retain that seat.
